Limited Time Underwriting Holiday promotion for Blue Shield of California Medicare Supplement plan


We’re celebrating the season at Marc Sigmon Insurance Agency with an important celebration that will ring in the New Year!  We are pleased to announce that our clients may be eligible for a special Underwriting Holiday through the Blue Shield of California Medicare Supplement plan.  The offer allows clients to enroll without answering any health questions or obtaining underwriting approval.  The promotion runs through December 1, 2021, and ends February 28, 2022


“This is an excellent opportunity for our prospective and current clients,” says license insurance agent Marc Sigmon.  “Applications received for enrollment in one of Blue Shield of California’s marketed Medicare Supplement plans will be accepted without underwriting review or approval. Also, Medicare beneficiaries who qualify for the underwriting holiday are not required to complete any of the statement of health or tobacco usage sections in the application.”



Eligibility Requirements Include:

-Must be a California resident to apply

-Medicare Supplement plans of effective January 1, February 1, and March 1, 2022, are eligible for the Underwriting Holiday.

-Applications must be submitted through through February 28, 2022




What is an underwriting holiday?
An
underwriting holiday is a term used to describe when insurance companies suspend their medical questions and approved health questions. This means that if you are eligible for Blue Shield of California's Medicare Supplement plans, you can enroll in any available plan without answering medical questions or obtaining approval. You may need to pay your initial monthly premium to activate coverage.




What do supplement plans from Blue Shield of California do?
Blue Shield of California Medicare supplement plans help you pay for some or all of your health care costs that Medicare doesn't cover (like copayments and coinsurance). All Medicare supplement plans in our medicare options — except for HMO Medicare supplement plans — give you coverage in case you have a hospital stay that is longer than anticipated.



How do I sign up for a supplemental plan?

You can enroll during an underwriting holiday if your medicare card has a medicare symbol and the words "fee for service" on it. You cannot enroll in Blue Shield of California Medicare supplement plans if you have a medicare advantage, medicare part C, or a medicare supplement plan from another insurance company.  Competing health plan members are welcome to enroll.



What type of discounts will be eligible for a supplemental plan?

If you qualify some of saving programs you may take advantage of include the household saving program, welcome to Medicare Rate Savings, dental savings plan, and autopay savings plan through electronic payments.
