Covered California Phishing Scam
URGENT: Phishing Attempts Requesting Personal Information From Non-Verified Sources

Recently, Covered California shared a warning about scam emails (known as phishing) pretending to be from their office. These emails may ask you to click a “secure link” to update or verify your personal information. These messages are NOT real.
What You Need to Know:
- Do not click on any links in suspicious emails.
- Official Covered California emails will always end with @covered.ca.gov.
- Scammers often use names you may recognize, but with fake email addresses. Always check the sender’s full email address before opening or responding.
What is Phishing?
Phishing is a scam where someone tries to steal your personal information (like Social Security numbers, passwords, or account details) by pretending to be a trusted organization.
If You’re Not Sure About an Email:
- Forward it to InformationSecurity@covered.ca.gov or PrivacyOfficer@covered.ca.gov for verification.
- You can also contact me directly before clicking or replying—I’m here to help keep your information safe.
Your privacy and security are a top priority for me and Covered California. Stay alert and stay safe.

I can also make a branded graphic to post on your social media and include in emails so clients recognize it instantly. That would boost visibility of the warning.
