GeoBlue single-trip & long-term plans provide peace of mind to our members with benefits such as emergency coverage & medical evacuation, mental health, telemedicine, prescriptions, AD&D, post-departure trip interruption, COVID19 testing and treatment and more at no extra cost to members. Additionally, GeoBlue puts healthcare in the palm of our member’s hands with self-service digital tools and resources.

The Premier plan uses the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO network when you are inside the U.S. which is the largest medical provider network in the U.S. with 95% doctor and hospital participation.

Unlike other plans, GoeBlue does not require the member pay the deductible for common services such as office visits (general practitioner, specialists), preventative care (full annual wellness exam), and prescriptions drugs. You would only need to pay towards the deductible if you happen to have a more major service such as surgery, inpatient hospital stay, MRI/CT scan, etc.

When outside the U.S., you can receive medical treatment at any doctor or hospital you choose, regardless if they are contracted with GeoBlue or not. The benefits are exactly the same with non-contracted medical providers as with GeoBlue contracted medical providers.

The main benefit of going to a GeoBlue contracted doctor or hospital is they are guaranteed to be English speaking, western trained, and they are usually willing to bill GoeBlue directly. If the doctor is not contracted with us and not willing to bill directly, that’s perfectly fine because you are still covered at the same rate. The only difference is you will need to pay the doctor up front and then email us the bill with a claim form for reimbursement.

For high cost inpatient services at a non-contracted hospital, GeoBlue can often still set up direct billing even though the hospital is not contracted with us. You’ll have a 24/7 collect phone number to call to reach our Global Health and Safety department who provide all kinds of helpful services to our members located outside the U.S. These services include setting up direct billing, helping to schedule appointments, coordinating medical evacuations, prescription drug translations and more.
